Welcome to the Virtual Public Workshop for the Town of Cicero's Zoning Code Update.
NOTE: To close any sidebar tab or pop-up window, including this one, click the 'x' in the upper right corner (an 'x' may not fully appear on mobile devices).
We invite you to use the interactive map to share your thoughts on how potential zoning updates can help the Town of Cicero achieve its vision as expressed in the recently adopted 2017 Comprehensive Plan. The Plan promotes enhancing the quality of life of all residents by facilitating economic development opportunities, protecting and revitalizing neighborhoods, business, and manufacturing districts, while making the community more walkable and supportive of transit. This includes enhancing Cicero Avenue for transit service as recommended in the 2014 Cicero Avenue Corridor Plan (SCM) and the 2014 Cicero Connections Transit Area Implementation Plan (RTA).
This project is receiving funding and technical support from the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA).
How do I participate?
To learn how to leave comments on the map, click here for a step-by-step guide of instructions.
What issues should I consider?
Check out the informational materials on the left sidebar of the map, as well as clicking on the various color shapes on the map to learn more about the issues unique to each special sub-area of the Town. The issues identified for each sub-area are provided as a starting point to keep in mind as you share your thoughts. You may either address any of these issues or use them as starting points to prompt your own thoughts.
How long is the workshop?
This web-based workshop will be operational from February 3, 2021, and closing at the end of the day on March 28, 2021.
How often can I comment?
Come back as many times as you like and as your time allows. Your feedback will help the Town understand which zoning and transit issues are important to the community.
Please share with your family, friends, and neighbors.
